Miss Sarah wanted a portait of her entire family including children and grandchildren so we headed out to the Botanical Gardens this weekend and braved the cold weather. Her little grandchildren were such troopers! I took them all over the grounds looking for good spots for a group shot. All the hiking around was worth it though as I think we got some great pictures! We also took several shots of each of their individual families. I always make that suggestion when I have a large family. Big group photo and individual shots. Why not! And of course anyone who knows me knows that I love to photograph children so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to photograph this group of four little cousins.

Happy Holidays!
We mailed our Christmas cards earlier this week so I thought I would post it on my blog. I took these shots of Ezra last month when he was about 13 weeks old. He's so darn cute these days! And he's gotten so chubby which I absolutely love! My original plan when I shot these was to get one great picture for the front of the card and include our holiday message on the inside. Well, you can imagine my dilemna when I uploaded the pictures. So hard to pick just one! Instead I came up with this combination of nine photos. It's probably way more pictures than you will ever see on any holiday card but hey I couldn't resist!

It took about ten different versions for me to come up with my final card. (Can you imagine anyone being so picky?!?!) I tried a bunch of different shots in all the versions. The one above was my final choice and the one we printed. The version below was my second favorite. It didn't make the final cut but it still makes me smile.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas this year!

Have I mentioned how much I love to photograph babies?!?! Especially when I get ones like this little guy. He now tops my list of sweet babies that I've photographed. So many wondeful expressions and he was oh so ticklish! It's so fun for me when we can get babies laughing during a session. The first shot of him giggling might be one of my all time favorites now!

I met up with Zach and Melanie and their babies Bella & Boo this weekend out at TCU. We took some traditional shots for their holiday cards as well as some fun ones just for the heck of it. I love it when clients let me try new things! Thanks guys! Aren't their dogs the coolest?!?!

A few shots from my recent adventures downtown with a fisheye lens. I can see how these could get addictive. I think they are pretty darn cool! I borrowed this one from a friend for these shots. Maybe Santa will bring me one of my own this year. There's some fun toys out there these days in photography land!

Here Comes Santa Claus!

Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? Several clients have mentioned ordering prints for gifts this year. Of course I think this is a fabulous idea! :0) If you plan to order prints I will need to have the orders in by December 10th. Just want to be sure that your pictures arrive in plenty of time for Santa on the 24th.

I Do

Mackenzie and Tim are married! This wedding was a first for me as I don't really do weddings. When people ask what kind of photography I do I usually say "anything but weddings." And I've never considered myself a wedding photographer. Sure, I've shot as a second shooter before at a few other weddings but I've never been in charge and never had to run the show. Well, Mackenzie and Tim talked me into it and I decided to give it a try. So glad I did! Will I do another wedding? Maybe. If I can find clients as laid back and fun as Mackenzie and Tim then I might be swayed. :0)

Same picture, different edit. I had fun playing around with these. And a few details that I thought were really neat...

Congratulations Mackenzie and Tim!

Lots of our friends are having babies these days so I was honored when my good friend Leslie asked me to photograph her little angel. He was almost three weeks old in these photos. Just about seven pounds I believe. It was hard for me to narrow down my favorites so I'm posting them all! Enjoy!

I never know if parents like shots like this next one but I've found that they are some of my favorites. I think Griffin had decided that the session was just about over. He's the one who's calling the shots these days, right?!?!
Oh wait...he wants me to stay. How quickly babies change their minds!
One last one that I really like. Griffin's nursury was super cute!

Last weekend I shot pictures for my super fantastic wedding photographer friend Dori. A million thanks to this girl who has helped me out so much with my photography business. She’s let me tag along on shoots, offered advice, loaned me equipment, put up with all my questions, and so much more. She’s awesome! Her mom wanted some shots for holiday cards so we headed out to the Botanical Gardens for these.
